Azul Summer Pavilion
Product Details
In Azul: Summer Pavilion, players assume the roles of master artisans in 16th‑century Portugal, tasked with decorating a grand summer pavilion for King Manuel I. The king’s pavilion was never built, but your craftsmanship can bring his vision to life in spirit.
The game is played over six rounds. In each round, you draft tiles from factory displays or from the central pool. One color is designated as wild each round, and if you take from a location containing that wild color, you must take one of those tiles.
Once drafted, you enter the placement phase. Your player board has seven star-shaped patterns — six monochrome stars and one multicolor star. Each space in these stars has a number (1–6), and placing a tile costs that many tiles (you discard extras or use wilds).
Tiles are scored as soon as you place them, based on adjacency to other tiles, encouraging smart placement. You also earn bonus tiles by completing structures around symbol areas on your board — when you surround a pillar, a statue, or a window, you can claim one.
At the end of the game, after six rounds, you get bonus points for each fully completed star pattern and for completely filling spaces of certain values on your board
